PEEL COLLECTION

PEEL is a coated fabric for upholstery that gives chestnut waste a second life. Portugal is a world reference in chestnut harvest, and with local partners Monteiro Fabrics collects the by-products of chestnut processing — wood, flowers, leaves, shells, barks and burs — and mills them into a fine powder. As a crop by-product, no additional water or land is required. Plant-based materials from chestnuts, organic cotton and natural oils make up 60% of the composition, with a bio-based carbon content of 65% (ASTM D6866-22 Method B). All technical requirements for upholstery end use are covered: 400,000 Martindale cycles, alcohol and bleach resistance, and fire certifications including EN 1021-1+2 and BS 5852 Crib 5. Eight colours are available from stock.
